Is meascán spleodrach de cheol uirlise dlúthfhite é Dréimire, a bhunaíodh sa Daingean ag Ben Janning (Dord) agus Mattie Barker (Giotár). Tá siad beirt aitheanta as a bheith mar chuid den ghrúpa Snagcheoil/Func Strange Attractor. I dteannta a chéile casann siad píosaí casta ceoil, a tharraingíonn ar réimsí éagsúla, leithéidí snagcheol agus Swing, chomh maith le ceol Laidineach agus ceol an Domhain Thoir. Thosnaigh an grúpa amach mar dís sara tháinig an ceoltóir il-uirlise Jon Sanders ar bord, a dheanann tionlacan orthu ar an Mandola.

Dréimire are an exciting blend of intricate instrumental music formed in Dingle Co. Kerry, by Ben Janning (Bass) and Mattie Barker (Guitar), who are known for their playing with Jazz/Funk group Strange Attractor. Together they play intricate pieces of music, touching on various genres, such as Jazz, Swing, Latin and Oriental. The group began as a duo before they were joined by multi-instrumentalist Jon Sanders, who accompanies them on Mandola.

An chéad dráma ó pheann Róisín Sheehy ó Bhaile Eaglaise, Corca Dhuibhne, is ath-insint shamhailteach, fhileata é Snámh na Saoirse ar fhíor-scéal tragóideach a tharla ar an mBlascaod Mór sa bhliain 1909. Baintear leas as saothar an ealaíontóra Tomás Ó Cíobháin, ceol nua-chumtha le Gerry O'Beirne agus córéagrafaíocht le Maria Svensson, Rinceoir Chónaitheach in An Lab. Is í Áine Moynihan an Stiúrthóir. Tá an léiriú seo tiomnaithe do Dhomhnal Mac Síthigh, athair Róisín, a d'éag ar an 9ú Mheithimh sa Phortingéil.

Tá An Lab urraithe ag Ealaín na Gaeltachta agus tá tréimhse chónaitheach Maria Svensson urraithe ag an gComhairle Ealaíon agus Comhairle Chontae Chiarraí.

Snámh na Saoirse, the first play from the pen of Róisín Sheehy from Baile Eaglaise in Corca Dhuibhne, is a poetic and imaginative re-telling of a tragic story that unfolded on the Great Blasket Island in 1909. It features the work of artist Tomás Ó Cíobháin, newly composed music by Gerry O'Beirne and the choreography of Maria Svensson, Dancer in Residence at An Lab. It is directed by Áine Moynihan. This production is dedicated to the late Domhnal Mac Síthigh, father of the playwright, who died tragically in Portugal on June 9th of this year.

An Lab is funded by Ealaín na Gaeltachta and Maria Svensson's residency is co-funded by the Arts Council and Kerry County Council.

Is sraith de sé léamhanna filíochta í 'Fíochán Filí' atá á eagrú ag An Lab, ionad ealaíne na Gaeilge sa Daingean, Co. Chiarraí. Saghas clár malartaithe is ea í mar cheiliúradh ar thraidisiún sean-bhunaithe Gaeltachta na filíochta agus ar fhás thraidisiún nuálach cathrach na Gaeilge. Beidh na léamhanna leata amach thar 2017 ó Feabhra go Samhain. Tabharfaidh gach ceann den 6 ócáid filí Chorca Dhuibhne le chéile i dteannta filí cathracha i mBaile Átha Cliath, An Ghaillimh nó Corcaigh in aon mhórléamh amháin. Beidh trí chinn de na léamhanna sna cathracha thuasluaite agus trí chinn eile in Ionad An Lab sa Daingean agus iad scoite amach thar 2017.

'Fíochán Filí' ['Weaving Poets'] is a series of six poetry readings organized by An Lab Irish-language arts centre in An Daingean [Dingle]. The series of readings is a kind of exchange programme celebrating both the Gaeltacht-based, long-standing poetic tradition and the newer, urban-based growth of poetry in Irish. The readings will be spread out over 2017 from February to November. Each of the six readings will bring together poets from the West Kerry Gaeltacht with poets from one of the cities Dublin, Cork and Galway in one major reading. Three of the readings will take place in these cities, while the other three will be hosted in An Lab in An Daingean [Dingle].

Josie Ó Guairim: Ómós

Chuaigh an file Josie Joe Pheadair Ó Guairim ó Charna i gConamara ar shlí na fírinne gan choinne Mí Márta i mbliana. Bhí socrú déanta go mbeadh sé féin mar aoi-fhile ag an léamh seo in An Lab, ach faraor ní mar a shíltear a bítear. Mar ómós do Josie agus a shaothar beidh a dhlúthchara Seán Ó hEanaigh, Raidió na Gaeltachta inár dteannta chun labhairt fén bhfile agus cúpla dán leis a reic, rud a bheidh á dhéanamh ag an dá aoi-fhile eile ar an oíche chomh maith.

The poet Josie Joe Pheadair Ó Guairim from Carna in Conamara passed away unexpectedly in March this year. He had been invited as one of the guest-poets at this reading in An Lab, but alas that was not to be. As a tribute to Josie and his work, his close friend Seán Ó hEanaigh from Raidió na Gaeltachta will be with us to speak about the poet and read some of his poems, as will the two other guest-poets on the night.
